I have been on contract with TIG since October, so i have been working 2-3 days a week. The following is a list of projects I had been working on during October and November.
-Ecards - This section was initially deveoped in teh summer but fully completed recently. Thanks to the help of Martin and Mike! So far we have about 16 submissions, and 60 cards sent!
-Icubed - I revamped the zine, and brought it into the TIG interface.
Cultivating Peace Edits. This is a project i initally took on when Martin went to YES. I thought it was over after i completed the edits. But apparently it never ends. I'd like to think they are a constant pinching, right under your arm, waiting until you say uncle. But no hard feelings :)
- Global Gallery - Created the look and feel over the summer. During the course of october, i had completed a written proposal of what the ideal gallery would incorporate. I then had a meeting with whoever could come, Jarra, Vittoria, and Tvrtko were present. And gave feedback. I think the meet went off somewhere in the future, but i left it feeling really sad, rather then excited. I'm currently working on a written piece that will explain the realistic needs of the Gallery as it stands in order for the self sustainability and ease of submission to be more present. The 3 key areas to work on are:
1. Thumbnail resize tool
2. Submission process (revamp)
3. Creating a Tab for "my Gallery" to manage exsiting art pieces (edit/delete) as well as add additional peices to their exhibit - create and exhibit etc.
- Grants - Nick and I sat down one day and we went and looked for possible funding for the Gallery, as well as other initiatives. From this, i'm working on the Global Gallery VIsion, Mission, purpose and future, as well as the path to get there.
- Barcelona 2004 - this is an exciting event! Jennifer and I will be sitting down on the 3rd of december to plan out a proposal fully and get this ball moving in the right direction.
- Panel - Earlier, i spoke on a panel with Mike, Martin and Jennifer to a room full of marketing people questioning us on the effective ways to market to youth. Jen had a brilliant idea - have youth work with the marketing team, tap into their ideas, but giving them an internship opportunity, job opp...and treating them like equals.
- Currently working on UPIA - website. It has been delayed 2 weeks. so the eta will be mid december.
- Currently working on a site for Jason Dorsey - design phase in effect. Looking to be completed come mid december late december depending if timelines are kept.
Aside from the 2-3 days at TIG, i've also been doing small freelance projects. It's been busy.
This seems like an accurate summary to date. I'd like to that Outlook "tasks" for giving me the memory i wouldn't otherwise have :) As well as TIG, for all the support.
